Abstract

For the model of three-phase four-wire power supply system in an unbalanced non-sinusoidal periodic mode, which takes into account the energy losses in the active resistance of a power cable, the physical meaning of the presented formula for apparent power definition is analyzed. The conditions of its equivalence with the formulas given in the IEEE and European standards are defined. Based on the decompositions of the apparent power of three-phase four-wire power system on quadratic components, the development of shunt active filter control algorithms is considered and the comparative assessment of energy losses in the application of these algorithms is fulfilled.
