Abstract
A system for determining the dc resistance of individual conductors 2 /spl mu/m in diameter and 0.5-1 mm in length is described. The system uses a four-wire measurement, computerized data acquisition, and unique sample handling and contacting methods. To demonstrate system operation, data from measurements made on small-diameter copper wires are presented. These wires were first measured in long lengths on another system and then cut into short lengths and remeasured on this system. The results from these two measurement systems shown that this system is an effective tool for determining the resistance per unit length of short, small-diameter conductors. >
