Abstract

• Baccaurea motleyana leaves were used to make stable silver nanoparticles, and their seeds were used to synthesize activated carbon AC in a green way. • Furthermore, the characterization studies demonstrated that the Ag ions were successfully transformed into their elemental forms and hybridised on the AC activated carbon. • Ag/AC nanohybrid was selectively killed the MCF 7 cancer cell line. • Normal cell lines MCF 10A were shown to be unaffected by Ag/AC nanohybrid. In this study, Baccaurea motleyana leaf extract was used to successfully synthesis an argentum/silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) and it was anchored on activated carbon (AC) to form Ag/AC nanocomposite. The biomolecules from the leaf of Baccaurea motleyana were used to carry out the reduction, stabilisation, and capping processes. The characteristics of the metal oxide were increased in every way by the addition of activated carbon and noble metal. As the modified structural, optical and morphological properties of as-prepared nanocomposite were characterized using various techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV–visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM) with Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and transmission electron microscope (TEM). Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) on the activated carbon surface enhanced its stability under a divergent of biological circumstances. The fabricated nanocomposites had a higher cytotoxic effect against the breast carcinoma cell lines (MCF-7) attributed to the synergistic effect of the resonant Ag/AC NCs. The synthesized hybrid were significantly lesser cytotoxic to Normal cell lines MCF 10A, confirming the bio functionalized NCs' superior safety in cancer therapeutics. As a result, this research provides a sustainable and feasible plots strategy for the fabrication of noble Ag NPs loaded hybrid AC composites for anti-breast cancer treatments.
