Abstract

The article traces the formation and development of the apocalyptic genre and its embodiment in various directions: literature and cinema (on the example of the USSR and Russia). The analysis of ideas, images of heroes in cinema is carried out, and the relevance of fears that formed the basis for films in every period of history is emphasized. On the basis of a catastrophic worldview, the features inherent in Russian and Soviet cinema are revealed, and the evolution of meaning, ideas and images in the films of the Soviet period and modern films is traced.
