Abstract
Considering the growth of awareness around key soc ial issues, such as sustainable development and poverty, social entrepreneurship has been the s ubject of discussion in the media business and academia. In this context, the emergence of a new m odel of social management, based on the formation of intersectoral partnerships, has drawn attention to the importance of knowledge management mechanisms and management of interorgani zational networks in the development of innovative solutions. Therefore, in order to broade n the understanding of the entrepreneurial process in the social field, we propose a case stud y of the practices of network management from the point of view of applications of knowledge in a n socially-driven inter-organizational network. It was concluded that theories of knowledge managem ent and network management were helpful in understanding the phenomenon, because the empiri cal data confirmed the performance of applications of knowledge by operating activities i n networks, according to the research framework. Note, however, the exception of the impo rtance of information systems, considered as protagonists in literature and as instruments of secondary importance by respondents. We conclude further that the activities of knowledge m anagement are intrinsic to the nature of management of interorganizational networks activity , especially when aimed at generating innovations
