Abstract

Objective To explore the anxiety of female patients with chest surgery during perioperative period and effects of nursing intervention.Methods 72 patients admitted according to the order were divided into 2 groups:experimental and control groups.In control group,conventional nursing care was given.And in study group,nursing intervention methods including systematic information support and mental invention were given.Investigations of anxiety were carried with S-AI measurements in patients on admission and the day before surgery and general condition of the patients respectively.Results Anxiety score was (53.4 ± 7.2 ) on admission and (48.3 ± 6.6) in the day before surgery in experimental group and those in control group were (54.2 ±8.1) and (51.8 ±5.8),respectively.The difference in the experimental group was statistically significant (t =3.133,P<0.05),and anxiety score in experimental group was significantly lower than control group the day before surgery ( t =2.390,P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Nurses should pay more attention to preoperative anxiety of the female patients with chest surgery.Information support and mental invention before operation can significantly reduce the anxiety level of female patients with chest surgery.
