Abstract
The article analyzes the reasons for the increasing incidence of anxiety and depressive disorders in the modern risk society. The ambiguous relationships of these pathologies with the level of motor activity, information loads, the pace and rhythm of modern life are considered. Literature data and the results of our own research on the significant influence of the educational and professional activities characteristics on the body adaptive capabilities and the rate of aging are presented. The possibilities of increasing the effectiveness of prevention and correction of anxiety and depressive disorders in athletes and representatives of other population groups are discussed.
