Abstract

An alcoholic extract of the aboveground parts of Cryptostegia gradiflora showed inhibitory activity against the KB cell culture and was fractionated through a series of partitions and column chromatography to yield five cardenolides: oleandrigenin, 16‐propionylgitoxigenin—a new natural product, 16‐anhydrogitoxigenin, gitoxigenin, and rhodexin B.
