Abstract

Amazon and Audible are currently being investigated by anti-trust authorities in Europe. Competition complaints were made by the German Publishers and Booksellers Association on the grounds of abuse of dominant position and restrictive practices. The article presents the reasons behind these formal complaints and makes a critical assessment of the approach taken by the anti-trust authorities so far. It raises the concern that investigations should be broadened to include questions of abuse of dominant position.
