Abstract
AbstractAntiresonance effect is studied in a system composed of two‐impurity centres in a crystal; one has a broad absorption band while the other has sharp phonon‐line structure in its absorption spectrum when no interaction occurs between the two defects. A general expression of the change in the absorption spectrum due to interaction between them is given. The antiresonance effect on a sharp zero‐phonon line is investigated in detail and the favourable conditions for the observation of such an effect are also discussed.
