Abstract

121 Sb Mossbauer spectra have been measured at 4·2 K in some cyanide adducts SbCl5,NCR (R = Me, Cl, But, Ph, Et, CH2Cl, CCl3, CHCH2). Hyperfine interactions deduced from transmission integral analysis of the spectra are interpreted in terms of the varying degree of electron transfer from the cyanide to the antimony atom. The results are discussed in combination with data from nuclear quadrupole resonance and vibrational spectroscopy studies.
