Abstract
Background and Aims: Atherosclerosis is initiated by damage to the endothelium, accumulation of inflammation tissue, foam cell formation, migration and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cell and rupture of the plaque causing the formation of the thrombus. Once adhere platelet surface was exposed, and these promote further endothelial dysfunction and inflammation. The aim is to examine the anti-inflammatory effect of Berberis vulgaris in atherosclerotic- induced rabbit.
