Abstract
Objective To study the clinical efficacy of anterior chamber pneumatizing for the treatment of Descemet's membrane detachment. Methods Eleven eyes of 11 patients with Descemet's membrane detachment after intraocular surgery were retrospectively analyzed, including 4 cases with trabeculectomy for glaucoma, 6 cases with cataract surgery and 1 case with other operation. The anterior chamber pneumatizing was performed to prop up the detached Descemet's membrane. Results Descemet's membrane was reattached after once injection in 8 patients, and the corneal transparency recovered after operation. Complete Descemet membrane detachment failed to reattachment in 3 cases after once injection and the Descemet's membrane was reattached after the air was injected once again. Conclusion Anterior chamber pneumatizing is an effective and safe method for the treatment of Descemet's membrane detachment.
