Abstract

The models and the methods to analize the electromagnetic field radiated mainly from the ICRF antennas are reviewed. The features of some typical antennas currently used and proposed for the ICRF plasma heating are also illustrated. The impedance characteristics of basic antennas obtained by the 2-dimensional finite element method analysis are shown and compared each other. The Faraday shield effects on the half turn loop antenna and the cutoff waveguide aperture antenna are discussed to indicate that the near field distribution and aperture field distribution are significantly altered by the presence of the Faraday shield.
