Abstract
SummaryThe lethal and sub-lethal effects of basic phenylmercuric nitrate, potassium cyanide and mercuric chloride on onion roots and sea urchin embryos can be antagonized by yeast and beef spleen extract. These observations are in agreement with reports that yeast extract can offset the action of respiratory poisons on some enzyme systems.
