Abstract

1. 1. Bufo valliceps was able to withstand anoxia longer than Bufo woodhousei. 2. 2. The respiratory rate of B. woodhousei was twice that of B. valliceps. 3. 3. The differences in anoxia tolerance and respiratory rate may explain differences in the duration of dormancy in the two species.
