Abstract
Richardson's major teaching strategies are described and analyzed. A brief narrative of the historical context of Richardson's work is given and the probable reasons for Richardson's personal conflicts are discussed. Materials from the Richardson Archive at the University of Central England, various publications, and Campbell's (1980) and Holdsworth's (1990) theses, as well as conversations with John Swift, head of the Richardson Archive, were used in this study.
