Chronic ataxic neuropathy (CAN) is most commonly due to sensory ganglionopathy, which can be identified by the classic sensory neuronopathy pattern in nerve conduction study (NCS): a marked sensory nerve conduction abnormality in the presence of normal motor nerve conduction.
