Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the concepts of torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, exposed by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in its Judgment issued in the case under the notation “I.V. vs. Bolivia”, dated November 30, 2016. To this end, a brief introduction regarding the concept of torture and cruel, inhumane, and degrading treatment will be exposed; followed by a synthesis of the conceptualizations of such terms in the case law of the IACHR, and an analysis of the concept of torture and ill-treatments implied in the aforementioned Judgment, in the light of the context that was provided and considering the possible implications and consequences in future interpretations of the terms.
