Abstract

The objective of the article is to explore and systematize the concept of gendering through the mapping of Brazilian academic-scientifi c literature, through a scoping review, in the databases: VHL, Scopus, SciELO, LILACS and CAPES Periodicals in the period from 2019 to 2023. As a result, 196 articles were identifi ed and 24 were selected to be part of the review. The central axes identified were divided into: social construction, gendering and intersectionality, intersections of gendering in professional training, reaffirmation of gendered practices and criticism of hegemonic binarity. Most of the articles were produced and published in the South and Southeast of Brazil with only one publication from the North region. Despite not being conceptualized, the term genderification is problematized, criticizing the hegemonic binary and its construction in different training spaces. The scientific literature highlights the existence of gendering processes within academic productions and in everyday life, a detailed analysis of the articles reveals a lack of in-depth studies that examine their specific nuances and applications in the Brazilian cultural context.
