Abstract
This is a review of the book Troubling sociological concepts: an interrogation, by Martyn Hammersley. The work presents an instigating reflection on some of the main concepts used by sociologists in research and teaching activities, which have controversial and divergent meanings, mixing scientific, ethical and political meanings. From a Weberian perspective, the work intends to encourage sociologists to make a cautious use of the concepts, attentive to their methodological validity.
