Abstract

Cattle fattening is the foremost activity in animal husbandry while animal husbandry is one of the most important activities in agriculture with which human being has been dealing with since he has existed. The aim of this study is to analyze the factors affecting cattle fattening farms in Ankara province. The study has been carried out in Cubuk, Akyurt and Kazan districts of Ankara where a cattle fattening is being intensely practiced. Primary data used in the study was obtained from the 122 farms in the sample through face to face survey. Explanatory five factors, Income factor, Income-BBHB factor, Land factor, Labor factor and Cost factor, were determined in the conducted analysis. Variation being observed among 26 variables is explained by the inter-correlated and low number of clusters called factors. The average factor loading is 0.7665 and variance value is 35.73% for the first factor while the average factor loading is 0.6316 and variance value is 6.21% for the last one.
