Abstract
Recent measurements of the penetration depth and optical conductivity in YBa2Cu3Ox (YBCO) single crystals suggest the possibility of an order parameter with d+s-wave symmetry. We present results from calculations of both the anisotropic low temperature penetration depth and the frequency-dependent conductivity for a layered superconductor with such a pairing symmetry. The system is modelled as a stack of weakly coupled, two dimensional superconducting planes, and the effect of non-magnetic impurity scattering in both Born and unitarity limits is examined.
