Abstract
AbstractDistortion is an effect of inhomogeneous strain behaviour which can be caused by plasticity resulting from thermal or transformation stresses, inhomogeneous phase transformations, or inhomogeneous anisotropic strains during phase transformations. Anisotropic strains during phase transformations incorporate anisotropic transformation strain as well as transformation plasticity. Both effects will be discussed in this paper in a corresponding manner. This includes a theoretical derivation, experiments for determination of these effects, and experiments and simulations on workpieces.
