Abstract

Magnetoresistance rotation data in the low pressure metallic phase of (TMTSF) 2PF 6 are well reproduced by semiclassical calculations. Under the condition of a finite perpendicular magnetic field component B b, a-c plane resonances are found to smoothly transform into b-c Lebed resonances. Direct b-c rotations fail to exhibit power law scaling in ρ zz( B c). This means that benchmarks recently suggested by an incoherent interlayer transport model for non-Fermi liquid behavior are not met, in contrast to results at higher pressure (P~10kbar). Saturating magnetoresistances for B//b, however, appear nonclassical. More definitive criteria on what is and is not a Fermi liquid are going to be necessary in order to determine the ultimate fate of this and other low dimensional conductors.
