Abstract

The statistical scission model is used to calculate the fragmentation of the carbon-induced fission. The predicted angular distributions are in reasonable agreement with those measured for heavy-ion-induced fission for systems in which the fission barriers vanish or are very small relative to the nuclear temperature. The effective variances deduced from the fragment angular distributions due to sequential fission are also calculated using this model. The carbon-induced fission in the present work is the12C+12C-induced fission where six alpha-particles are emitted. The present obtained theoretical calculations are in good agreement with the measured values.
