Abstract
The paper discusses the findings arrived at during a master’s thesis contrastive analysis of English multi-word verbs and their Slovene equivalents. The first part provides an overview of different descriptions of multi-word verbs in English linguistics and prepositional verbs in Slovene linguistics. The second part presents the analysis in question, which was based on two dictionaries – Collins COBUILD Dictionary of Phrasal Verbs and Veliki angleško-slovenski slovar Oxford – used to extract the English multi-word verbs and their Slovene equivalents.
