Abstract

Methods and approaches in the study of hadith have experienced rapid and increasingly diverse developments. The hadith approach has also begun to venture into interdisciplinary realms by combining other perspectives in understanding hadith. However, there is currently no widely used classification of methods and approaches in the study of hadith within the field of hadith scholarship. This is because there are methods and approaches in the study of hadith that are popularly used due to their compatibility with interdisciplinary studies, while others are not. This article aims to present the popular methods and approaches implemented in the study of hadith within the academic and scholarly world. The method employed in this article is qualitative research using a literature review approach, focusing on the types of research, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques. The data for this article were obtained from journals, books, and relevant texts that are related to the discussed topic.
