Abstract

A one-month-old male newborn presented with oedema and erythema of the nail folds of the great toes. These inflammatory signs were persistent and evident since birth. On physical examination, a bilateral overgrowth of the medial aspect of the lateral nail folds was observed. This created a hypertrophic lip that partially covered the nail plate (figure 1).
