Introduction

For many adolescents in secondary schools, romantic relationships are an important source of extreme feelings of love, both positive and negative. It is during this time period that many adolescents begin dating and forming relationship bonds with friends. Adolescence is an important developmental period when there is increase in the quest for romantic relationships Love at this period tends to take on new and an entirely different meaning, from what it had been to the child and this could portend danger if not properly addressed. Mwale (2008) defined adolescence as a period of life from puberty to maturity It is a period of physical, biological, emotional and social maturation and transition.
