Abstract

In this article, the chaos areas in the response of a Kelvin-Voigt viscoelastic plate under a combination of harmonically parametric and external random excitations were obtained, throughout a fully analytic approach. It was observed that how the structural damping, the linear and nonlinear elasticity, the amplitude, and frequency of parametric force and the intensity of the white noise excitation affected the chaos region. It was shown that at frequencies close to the natural frequency of the corresponding linear system, the dominant behavior was more affected by parametric harmonic force while at other frequencies it was affected by random excitation.
