Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of comprehensive early hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) treatment for the children with cerebral palsy (CP).Methods With the knowledge and consent of the custodians,160 children with CP were randomly divided into the treatment group (88 cases) and the control group (72 cases).The patients of both groups were given routine therapy,including functional training,scalp acupuncture,point-injection and drug treatment,while the treatment group was given HBO in addition to routine therapy.Following 3 months of treatment,assessments were made on the development quotient,and at the same time,therapeutic effects were compared between the 2 groups.Results Statistical differences could be noted in therapeutic effects between the patients of the 2 groups.Conclusions Comprehensive early hyperbaric oxygen treatment could enhance therapeutic effects on cerebral palsy in children,and results indicated the younger their age was,the better the results would be.
