Abstract
This paper gives the causes of eddy current loss of permanent magnet in axial permanent magnet motor, and puts forward the method of reducing eddy current loss by circumferential and radial combined sectional insulation of permanent magnet. The principle analysis and analytical formula derivation of permanent magnet sectional insulation to reduce eddy current loss are carried out. Finally, Maxwell three-dimensional finite element simulation is used to verify that the circumferential and radial combined sectional insulation of permanent magnet can greatly and quickly reduce the eddy current loss of permanent magnet of axial motor.
