Abstract

The equivalent small parameter method (ESPM) is extended to the closed-loop Voltage-Mode-Controlled (VMC) PWM switching power converter system with CCM operation in this chapter. Firstly, it discusses in detail the establishment of the mathematical model of the closed-loop PWM converter system, and then proposes the basic algorithm to solve the closed-loop system based on the ESPM. Next, taking the VMC CCM-operated Boost converter as an example, it provides the detailed solving procedures based on the basic ESPM and the improved ESPM algorithm. Finally, it introduces the experimental results for further verification of the analysis for open-loop and closed-loop converters based on the ESPM. The results from the three methods, i.e., the ESPM, the simulations and the experiments, agree well with each other, which shows that ESPM still possesses the advantages of simple algorithm and high accuracy when it is used in the solution of the closed-loop converter system.
