Abstract

Abstract The two forms of the cell means model are described: the unrestricted model and the restricted model. Computational procedures are presented for a completely randomized design, randomized block design, and completely randomized factorial design. Computational procedures also are presented for a completely randomized analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) design. The relative merits of the cell means model and the classical analysis of variance (ANOVA) model approaches to analysis of variance are discussed.
