This article is devoted to analysis of Ukrainian ethno-cultural development and ethnic processes in the first half of the XVII century. The author studied the dynamic changes of directly and indirectly related to then ethno-cultural development and its main elements: language, territory, traditional culture, Orthodox religion, identity, historical memory and so on

У результаті проведеного дослідження: – охарактеризовано історіографію проблеми дослідження, простежено розвиток народної української мови і староукраїнської літературної мови; – здійснено аналіз розширення української етнічної території; – окреслено розвиток української традиційної культури загалом і мілітарної зокрема; – розглянуто тогочасну домінантну ознаку українського народу – православну віру та її важливий вплив на вітчизняний етнокультурний розвиток; – осмислено розвиток етнічної та національної ідентичності, самосвідомості, історичної пам‘яті, самоназви народу і країни
Summary
