Abstract
AbstractComposition of the volatile oil of Nepeta macrosiphon Boiss. (Lamiaceae) was investigated by GLC and GC–MS. Seventy‐three components, representing 96.9% of the total oil, were characterized. The main components of the oil were spathulenol (28.8%), α‐cadinol (13.6%), bicyclogermacrene (10.1%), β‐caryophyllene (9.6%) and linalool (5.6%). Nepetalactone isomers were not present in the essential oil of N. macrosiphon. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
