Abstract
The spectrum of lanthanum was photographed in the80–1240Å wavelength region. The5s25p2, 5s5p3 and 5s25p5dconfigurations of La VIII were investigated. All levels of the5s25p2 and 5s5p3 configurations andten out of twelve levels of the 5s25p5d configuration wereestablished. Hartree–Fock (HF) and least-squares-fitted (LSF)parametric calculations were carried out to interpret the spectrum.Forty-nine lines have been classified in La VIII in the379–1145Å wavelength region.
