Abstract
The planned utilisation of highly inclined geosynchronous satellites has triggered the extension of the existing debris model to cover also non-equatorial orbits at geosynchronous altitude. Total values and the characteristics of the debris flux on spacecraft in these orbits are presented. Under certain conditions, objects in an inclined GSO are exposed to resonance effects which result in a considerable reduction of the orbit lifetime. Strategies are discussed how to take advantage of these effects for a fast removal of non-operational spacecraft.
