Abstract

There is an opinion in society that flattery and sycophancy are the main tools in politics. Due to the large number of synonymous concepts of flattery, its study is also difficult. For example, English terms such as “adulation”, “bootlicking”, “flattery”, “grovelling”, “sycophancy”, “toadying”, “truckling” are used interchangeably. In this article, we have used the synonym “flattery” to define the political characteristics of flattery. The purpose of the research work is to present the political characteristics of actions with signs of flattery. This purpose was dictated by the need to identify the structural features of flattery in politics. To achieve the purpose, reviewed indexed Scopus articles in the social science to date and analyzed found 166 articles. As a result, special attention was paid to 24 literatures that are related to the political sciences.
