Abstract
Annotation Purpose. To determine the state of moisture supply of grain crops during the sowing period. Methods. Analytical, monographic, graphic. Results. The content of productive moisture in the upper layer up to 20 cm of the main soils during the period of sowing grain crops in the main soil and climatic zones of Ukraine was determined. Conclusions 1. According to the results of the analysis of literary sources, it was established that during the sowing period of winter grain crops (on the example of winter wheat), the moisture supply of the soils of Ukraine is insufficient (from 2 to 11 mm), in contrast to spring grain crops (on the example of spring barley). 2. It was established that the use of zero and strip tillage and sowing technologies (No-till and Strip-till) gives the greatest moisture-saving effect, ensuring the preservation of plant remains on the surface of the soil to protect it from overheating and loss of moisture. Keywords: moisture supply, grain crops, productive moisture, technical means for sowing.
