Abstract

Introduction. The purpose of the article is to analyze various aspects of the organization of modern territorial development of tourism and the hospitality industry on the example of Ivanovo, Vladimir, Kostroma, Yaroslavl regions of the Central Federal District of Russia. Methods. The research was based on general scientific and special methods: grouping, situational and structural methods, observation, comparison, abstraction, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction. Results. The article presents an analysis of state regulation of the territorial development of tourism and the hospitality industry both at the national, regional and municipal levels. At the national level, the greatest attention is paid to such areas of territorial development of tourism as the development of tourism infrastructure, increasing the availability of tourism services, and improving tourism management. At the regional level, the emphasis is on the territorial development of such types of tourism as cultural, educational, medical, ecological. At the same time, the strategic development of tourism in the territories of municipal districts has been worked out only in 43% of districts of the regions. Conclusions. The analyzed situation indicates an insufficient level of development of the regulatory and legal framework in this sector of the regional economy and the need to improve it.
