Abstract

Nowadays, in the prevailing competitive environment aluminium alloy based composites are playing a vital role in developing materials with tailored properties suitable for aerospace and automotive application. In this research work, composites are developed through stir and squeeze casting techniques using aluminium alloy 7050 reinforced with graphene. The critical parameters like pouring temperature, rotation speed of stirrer and reinforcement content (wt % of Graphene) with different levels were considered for the experimental work. Surface roughness characterization studies were performed on the composite specimen developed through both the processes using different levels of experimentation. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was performed to identify the significance of the influencing factors on the surface roughness of the samples fabricated through the two different processes.
