Abstract

Dielectric Resonator has wide application in satellite communication because of its small size, large bandwidth and high Q-factor at microwave and millimeter wave frequencies. Dielectric Resonator also finds its application as an antenna element due to high radiation efficiency, small size and low losses. The resonant frequency is determined by the overall physical dimension of the puck and the dielectric constant of the material. In this paper, behavior of Dielectric Resonator like resonant frequency & Q-factor is reported for different dielectric constant materials. The analysis of cylindrical dielectric resonator is done using Cohnpsilas model & perturbation technique for dominant TE 01delta mode. Low resonant frequency and High Q factor is observed for high dielectric constant materials.
