Abstract

ABSTRACTIn this article, an analytical method for radar electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in complex environment is proposed to deal with the radar system-level EMC problem. The complete procedure of this method includes two steps: multi-coupling paths model and assessment methodology. In the first step, several coupling paths are mainly considered based on the electromagnetic topology (EMT) analysis with numerical calculation method, to get the interference from external and internal environment. The coupling coefficients are calculated to get the coupling power. The second step is to evaluate and quantify the effect of interference on radar performance. The radar EMC assessment methodology with the role of radar distance attenuation model is further presented. As a result, this process can easily get the influence to each radar and all radars from different paths and sources in same frequency band, even the radar system in different frequency bands. The rationality and flexibility of every step in this method is validated with other methods.
