Abstract

A ferroelectric solid solution of a three-component system of 0.90NaNbO3 − 0.05KNbO3 − 0.05CdNb2O6 was prepared by means of a two-stage solid-phase synthesis with subsequent sintering based on conventional ceramic technology. An X-ray diffraction study was carried out, and unit-cell parameters of the solid solutions with the aforementioned composition were determined. The two-phase states and related non-180° domain (or twin) structures are analyzed for the same lead-free composition. A tendency of the ferroelectric tetragonal phase to a monodemonization in the heterophase structures is discussed.
