Abstract

The importance of renewable energy sources has increased rapidly in recent years. Among these renewable energy sources, wind energy comes to leading due to its advantages such as clean, sustainable and cost-effective. Wind power energy source is an intermittent energy source. The power output can vary widely because of the random variables of wind speed. The wind turbine output is equal to wind speed's cube. The grid-connected wind power which includes many paralleled wind turbines, transformers and collection lines, will affect stability of the power system. In the present study, the grid-connected wind power system has been analyzed for 30 km, 120 km transmission lines where wind speeds are 6 m/s, 11 m/s, respectively. Simulation results and conclusions have been given for impact of wind speed and transmission line length on active power, reactive power, and power factor.
