Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyse the signifi cant aspects of folklore note sources that reveal their musical and semantic essence to performers of Cossack songs. Features of the singing and performing modifi cation of vocal works are associated with the modern performing interpretation of Cossack folk songs. In the present, singers highlight the deep content of the original source, plunging into the methodological problem of musicological analysis. To popularise the vocal material, performers add personal interpretation of the Kuban Cossack songs, using the processed, adapted musical resources of the folk epic.
