Abstract

The procedure used to obtain the general design data of various orienting devices for vibratory-bowl feeders and the general performance characteristics for vibratory-bowl feeding systems are described for the case of an edge-riser orienting device and a feeding system used for feeding and orienting rectangular prisms. The results of the testing and analysis are summarized on data sheets similar to those contained in a handbook of feeding and orienting techniques for small parts currently being assembled at the University of Massachusetts.
