Abstract

Pneumonia is one of the complications that frequently occurs in stroke patients. The incident in stroke patients happens after the first week of stroke and specifically within the first 3days of hospitalization in 10% of patients and had a highest risk in the prevalence of dysphagia, immobility, loss of consciousness, and severe stroke. Pneumonia in stroke could prolong the hospitalization period, increase the mortality, and increase the cost for medical treatment. Aim: to find out about the risk factor that affects the occurrence of pneumonia in stroke patients.
